Construction work of Globe Life Field – the baseball park under construction at Arlington, Texas, in US – is near-complete. Ninety percent of work is almost over. Globe Life Field will serve as the future home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers.

The countdown has begun – only 65 days are left until the first event at the new venue will be held on March 14, 2020. On the opening day, Chris Stapleton All-American Road Show is scheduled to be held in the brand new facility.

Setting up the seats is in progress on the upper seating bowl. Over half of the seats (40,300 in total) have been installed up to this point.

Lot of importance is being given to the kitchen and concession areas. Work is on in full momentum at all levels – concession work including bar fronts, and installing kitchen fittings.

Delaware North, the concessionaire provider for Globe Life Field, has started testing equipment in all kitchen and concession areas.

Preparatory work has begun on the field surface, including putting in place the retractable pitching mound. Field concrete work will start soon, and clay installation will follow by the end of January.

Installation of the retractable pitching mound started in December 2019 and is currently in progress.

The 5.5 acre retractable roof at Globe Life Field was closed for the first time in December last year, and was a turning point for the project. The roof moved a total of 405 ft from the open position, east towards the closed position.

In December last year, concrete work for the visitors and home dugout was completed. The major concrete work for the whole arena is through and work is underway for the outfield field walls, including the bullpens.

Setting up the ribbon panels is in progress and fitting work on both the left field and center field video board is complete. The right field board work is on.

Throughout the arena, sports lights have been installed and the lights are presently being tested in stages.

The American international architecture firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas, HKS is the design architect for the project and Manhattan Construction Company is the construction manager.

The Rangers will play the St. Louis Cardinals in an exhibition game on March 23, 2020 in the stadium. The regular season home opener is scheduled on March 31, 2020 against the Los Angeles Angels.
