San Diego State Athletics partners with Cox Business Image: San Diego State University

The San Diego State Athletics (US) has announced a seven-year agreement with Cox Business as a founding partner of the Snapdragon Stadium at the SDSU Mission Valley.

‘San Diego State Athletics’ quoted the San Diego State Director of Athletics, John David Wicker, as stating, “There is no better partner to help connect our fans with an exceptional gameday experience than Cox Business. Cox and SDSU have a long history together and I’m excited to have them as a Founding Partner in Snapdragon Stadium. The partnership will provide fans in the Cox Business Club with a unique experience of watching the team take the field from inside the club and getting to feel the excitement up close.”

The San Diego State Aztecs football team represents the San Diego State University in the sport of American football. The Aztecs compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the West Division of the Mountain West Conference.

The 35,000-capacity Snapdragon Stadium, known during its planning and early construction phases as the Aztec Stadium, is an under-construction American football stadium in San Diego, California (US) on the campus of the San Diego State University at SDSU Mission Valley, a 166-acre non-contiguous expansion parcel of the university campus.

The San Diego State University is a public research university in San Diego, California (US). Founded in 1897 as the San Diego Normal School, it is the third-oldest university and Southernmost in the 23-member California State University system. SDSU has a Fall 2020 student body of 35,578 and an alumni base of more than 300,000.

Atlanta (US)-based Cox Business provides voice, data and video services for more than 275,000 small and regional businesses, including healthcare providers, K-12 and higher education, financial institutions and Federal, State and local Government organizations.

Added Rebecca Rosen, Senior Director of Marketing West Region for Cox Business, “Keeping people connected during events and activities at San Diego’s newest state-of-the-art venue is another exciting way for us to invest in the communities we serve.”

‘San Diego State Athletics’ stated that in addition to offering one of the most unique and luxurious experiences in collegiate athletics, the Cox Business Club will feature a robust combination of premium menu items and traditional gameday fare. Excitement for this product has led to a recent sellout of all available club seats and loge boxes in this area.

Stated Duane Cameron, Vice-President for Cox Business in San Diego, “Cox Business is proud to support San Diego State Athletics as a founding partner of Snapdragon Stadium. Our founding partnership showcases Cox’s commitment to positively empowering families and individuals, including student- athletes, for success and health here in the region.”

Cox Business joins Qualcomm Technologies, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation as well as Sycuan Casino Resort, San Diego County Toyota Dealers, Kaiser Permanente, and Quidel as announced Founding Partners of the new 35,000-capacity stadium.

SDSU Athletics was represented by Legends and JMI Sports, which sourced and negotiated the partnership.

The Aztecs open Bashor Field (Aztecs home field) at Snapdragon Stadium against Arizona Wildcat football on September 3rd.

A limited number of premium seats are available in the East Club along with priority and reserved season ticket options for SDSU’s inaugural campaign in the new stadium. Individuals interested in getting more information on tickets are encouraged to register at SnapdragonStadium.com.
