The Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami CF (US) has raised attention since the arrival of soccer giant Lionel Messi and the club is also planning to have a new home in 2025.

‘INSIDESPORT’ stated that the MLS club is beginning construction on a 25,000-seater stadium in the Miami Freedom Park. Inter Miami already started the planning of this project even before the signing of Messi. This project will be ready in two years.

Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami, known as Inter Miami CF or Inter Miami, is an American professional soccer club based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a suburb of Miami (US). Established in 2018, the club began playing in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS) during the 2020 season.

The DRV PNK Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (US). Built on the site of the now demolished 17,417-capacity Lockhart Stadium, the 21,000-seat stadium is the home pitch of the Inter Miami CF of Major League Soccer (MLS) and its MLS Next Pro reserve side Inter Miami CF II.

Lionel Andrés Messi, also known as Leo Messi, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for and captains both the Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF and the Argentina national team.

The Miami Freedom Park is a 25,000-seat soccer-specific stadium currently under construction in Miami, Florida, United States. It is planned to be the home of the Major League Soccer team Inter Miami CF.

‘INSIDESPORT’ further stated that the new stadium will be close to the Miami International Airport. Inter Miami is planning to see a new home as they have decided to move out of Fort Lauderdale. The DRV PNK Stadium has remained their home ground since 2020. The club owner David Beckham and the Board have planned a new construction with full facilities. It marks the club’s long-term plan of development.

Messi’s arrival has also boosted Inter Miami’s confidence and they are keeping it in mind that the Argentine will see his contract expire in 2024. Messi also has the option for a 12-month extension beyond 2025. Inter Miami shared news of Miami Freedom Park on their official social media handle.

Inter Miami’s Managing Owner, Jorge Mas, has told the club’s official website, “With Inter Miami, my family set out to build something truly transformational. In just four years, we have changed the perception worldwide of American soccer. As we commence construction of the Miami Freedom Park that same vision guides us. In creating a multi-faceted space we will set a new standard of what sport complexes can be.”

He also added, “We look forward to delivering a food and entertainment destination for families to enjoy year-round. I can’t wait to welcome our fans to our state-of-the-art stadium and hear the chants as Messi and your Inter Miami players take the pitch for the first time in 2025.”

The whole project will be planned with a 58-acre public park. It also includes youth athletic fields to be used by the local community. This entire public park will have other commercial options like hotels, shops, cafes, and office space. Construction crews have arrived on the site and the project kicked off.

Development veteran Devon McCorkle is leading the project and talked about this project, “The level of attention and the influx of inquiries we are receiving have been incredible, a testament to the positive impact of Lionel Messi on Inter Miami CF and the City of Miami. Everyone wants to be part of what we’re creating, a new entertainment district that will be the centerpiece of family activities and experiences in Miami. We are in discussions with the stadium sponsors, hotel brands, major attractions operators, restaurant groups, cultural institutions, and many other exciting potential partners. We will deliver an incredible home for them at the Miami Freedom Park.”

Messi has scored 11 goals through nine appearances and also helped his new club to win the Leagues Cup. He also helped Inter Miami to reach the US Open Cup final. Messi also raised ticket sales in the United States and Apple also earned big revenue through streaming MLS. Messi’s stay in the US will revive Major League Soccer.

New York (US)-based Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men’s professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, which represents the sport’s highest level in the United States. The league comprises 29 teams – 26 in the United States and 3 in Canada – since the 2023 season.
